For the art book fair, I imagined letterforms composed of different geometric shapes coming together. The typeface design was inspired by the concept of the book fair itself - where different elements share commonalities while maintaining their uniqueness, like people gathering in the same space yet looking in various directions. I designed it while consistently thinking of the joyful experience of exploring overlapping and diverging elements, similar to a Venn diagram.

OS Same
What would it be like if all letters are given the equal amount of space? Monospaced font letters are designated the same sized slots. And when each letter is used in different frequencies the space taken up by each letter over the entire text will be different. In this light, OS Same was created by allotting the same amount of space for each letter depending on how frequently each letter is used in different languages. Striving for equity after accepting the differences is an integral part of typography design. OS Same puts a different spin on this task and expands upon it.

OS Swash
We aimed to create a typeface that embodies the harmony of contradictions - chaotic yet beautiful, disruptive yet attractive. What if decorative elements could serve a purpose beyond mere ornamentation? What would a typeface look like if the letters somehow interfered with each other when used? We attempted to create something beautiful by stepping away from conventional methods of drawing and combining letters.

OS Trace
A typeface developed for Unlimited Edition 11 (2019). This is a monumental typeface that marks the beginning of collaboration between Unlimited Edition and Orange Slice Type. It's a typeface designed with focus on boundaries rather than completed letter spaces, process rather than completion, and accompaniment rather than direction towards a purpose. It became the starting point of traces for the journey ahead.
